About the BID
In 2007, the licensed businesses in Nottingham city centre voted in favour of a Business Improvement District (BID). We Are Nottingham Leisure is the company which runs the BID.
A BID is a precisely defined geographical area within which the businesses vote to contribute funds towards a series of mutually beneficial projects to improve trading conditions. The projects delivered by the BID should be over and above those services that are provided by the public sector.
The Leisure BID has now been in full operation for 4 years and has delivered projects from events such as the Food and Drink Festival, Light Night and the Hockley Hustle music festival, marketing promotions such as the Big Night Out with BBC Radio Nottingham and our team of Street Ambassadors providing information to city visitors, access and safety initiatives such as the teams of taxi marshals ensuring people get home safely at the end of an evening out, and business benefits such as discounted membership to Nottingham Businesses Against Crime and subsidised First Aid, Due Diligence and other training.
