About the BID
A Business Improvement District (BID) specifically for the retail sector in Nottingham city centre was given the go ahead by city retailers in a ballot at the end of 2010. It will bring significant benefits to retailers and shoppers across the city and will enhance the retail offering and shopping experience in Nottingham.
It followed months of consultation with retailers which resulted in the development of a Business Plan. This outlines the programme of activities that the BID will be organising. Click here to download a copy of the Business Plan.
A Retail BID Company is now operating with Jeff Allen chairman of the BID and Katrina Brownhill the BID operations manager.
A number of activities have already been organised including a successful Easter Campaign, a Floral Trail linking the city's shopping areas recently launched and a major Christmas Campaign. A team of Street Ambassadors kitted out in highly visible turquoise jackets have also been recruited and a new Retail BID liveried cleaning vehicle has also been unveiled. A parking study has recently been commissioned too.
