About the BID
A Business Improvement District (BID) specifically for the retail sector in Nottingham city centre was given the go ahead by city retailers in a ballot at the end of 2010. It will bring significant benefits to retailers and shoppers across the city and will enhance the retail offering and shopping experience in Nottingham.
It followed months of consultation with retailers which resulted in the development of a Business Plan. This outlines the programme of activities that the BID will be organising. Click here to download a copy of the Business Plan.
A Retail BID Company is now operating with Gary Rowntree chairing the Interim Board of Management. A Board of Management will be elected in the Autumn and an operations manager is currently being recruited to manage and support the BID.
A number of activities are already underway with a Floral Trail linking the city's shopping areas recently launched which followed a successful Easter Campaign. Street Ambassadors are currently being recruited and a Christmas campaign is being plannned. A new Retail BID liveried cleaning vehicle will be unveiled shortly too.
