What you'd like to do...

Whether you are looking to eat and drink, catch a film or a play, go bowling or skating or stay a few days, Nottingham has it all within a square mile! Use the map to the left to help plan your visit. If you can't find what you're looking for, get in touch and we will do our best to help.

Hockley Village

Hockley Village is the bohemian centre of the city. Described as the "Soho of Nottingham", you'll find an eclectic mix of independent bars, cafes and restaurants together with some more familiar chain venues, many with a "Hockley twist", and two arthouse cinemas, including the world's smallest with only 21 seats!

Lace Market

Explore the beautiful cobbled streets and Victorian buildings of the Lace Market to find some of the city's best restaurants and bars, its boutique hotel - and don't miss the beautiful bar housed in a disused church. While you're here, make sure you make some time to visit Nottingham Contemporary, the city's new contemporary art gallery.

The Chapel Quarter

A relatively new part of the city, the Chapel Quarter offers European alfresco dining on a pedestrianised area gently sloping down towards the sights and sounds of Old Market Square. With a choice of bistros, restaurants and bars, it's in between the Playhouse to the west and the Theatre Royal and Concert Hall to the east, so is a great place for a pre or post theatre meal.

Theatre Square

Theatre Square, to the north of the city, contains the Theatre Royal and the Royal Concert Hall. You'll also find the Cornerhouse, with a selection of restaurants, bars, a casino and a cinema, providing a great choice of venues for a pre-theatre dinner or drink.

The Castle

The area around the Castle is home to some of the oldest pubs in England, some of which are connected by or even built in the man-made caves around the Castle (The Olde Trip to Jerusalem - which is also England's oldest inn, dating back to 1189AD). While you're here, don't forget to visit the fantastic restaurants on Maid Marian Way, famous for its many outstanding Asian eateries.

Old Market Square

At the heart of the City you'll find the Old Market Square, which is where Robin Hood won the coveted silver arrow. Recently redesigned, the Square has a European feel with flowerbeds and fountains, and often hosts events, concerts and regular markets. With many bars and restaurants within a short stroll and served by many tram stops, this area offers a great start to a great night out.
